While perhaps yet premature, we may soon be singing this song.

(To tune of “I’ll be Seeing You” by Sammy Fain and Irving Kahal)

Au revoir EU
So long the ease of using Euros
Long lines at the visa bureaus
Start anew

Currency communion
Without a fiscal union
Wrought a spending spree
And debts no one
Will guarantee

Au revoir EU
Though Merkel’s showing grit and spunk
Greek bonds are rated down to junk
And everyone can smell a skunk

Well now they’re printing Marks again
The Franc is spanking new
And the Euro as wallpaper,
If you’re fond of camp will do.
