(To tune of “They All Laughed” by George and Ira Gershwin)

We all laugh when candidates amuse us
With their brash outrageous lies
We all laugh when dizzy from their darting eyes
We all laugh, ridiculous it may sound
When they promise us the sky
Loud grows our laughter, voting for them, after
Leaves us high and dry

We laugh because it’s absurd
To think we’d swallow packaged curd
Consume what they serve
And we get what we deserve

We all laugh till something quells our laughter
We elect another clown
Then in our face
They’re laughing in D.C. town
