RIGHT BACK WHERE WE STARTED FROM

RIGHT BACK WHERE WE STARTED FROM
(To tune of, “Right Back Where we Started From,” by Pierre Tubbs and J. Vincent Edwards (1975))

After all the beating of all the drums
We end up right back here where we started from
All that spent, those tidy sums
And we are right back here where we started from

Another great divide
The House and Senate will collide
Just like they did before and naught gets done
Politics impedes
Every bill the country needs
While on the next campaign they’ve all begun

After all the beating of all the drums
We end up right back here where we started from
All that spent, those tidy sums
And we are right back here where we started from

Obama won the vote
He’ll make an effort to promote
Some of his programs for the middle class
The House will just stand by
Send to committee bills to die
Work of a crippling partisan morass

After all the beating of all the drums
We end up right back here where we started from
All that spent, those tidy sums
And we are right back here where we started from
