DEVALUATION

Venezuela’s government has announced an overhaul of its foreign currency system that has been widely labeled a stealth devaluation.

DEVALUATION
(To tune of “Imagination,” by Jimmy Van Heusen & Johnny Burke (1940))

Devaluation’s not funny
It steals the value of money
Prices hop like a bunny
And no one is amused

Devaluation is phony
Just like that ole’ one-trick-pony
A government sells baloney
When populism’s abused

Oh I love to by a brand new car
The gasoline is cheap
But it takes a zillion bolivars so
My old car I keep

Devaluation is needed?
Cause stupid laws go unheeded?
They try to camouflage
The great leader’s a clown
And as Maduro’s ego deflates
A country leaves town

BIG FAT GOV’NOR CHRIS

While there is no direct evidence to date that Governor Christie knew about or ordered the lane closings on the George Washington Bridge, ultimately, he is responsible for actions of his staff.

BIG FAT GOV’NOR CHRIS
(To tune of “Big Bad Leroy Brown,” by Jim Croce)

Well there’s a bridge into Manhattan
That you must take in from Ft. Lee
And on an average day the traffic pattern’s
Going slow as a growing tree

So, “Let’s have more traffic problems”
Said a Christie aid to a friend
And the governor said he’d move those cones
Though he knew nothing he’ll pretend

And that’s big, fat Gov’nor Chris
Got a mean streak temper like that bad God Dis
And if you cross him even a smidge
You ain’t gonna cross his bridge

Well Ft. Lee has a mayor
He is a dem but he is no hack
Christie thought that he was no team player
Was it time for a little pay-back?

But caught up in that traffic
Were school-kids  and EMTs
Now payback ain’t bipartisanship
And there’s no net under his trapeze.

I’m talkin’ ‘bout big, fat Gov’nor Chris
Got a mean-steak temper like that bad God Dis
And if you cross him even a smidge
You ain’t gonna cross his bridge
