IT’S CHRISTMAS

IT’S CHRISTMAS
(To original melody)

Snowflakes falling down all around us.
Streetlamps wear a while velvet shawl.
Shoppers pause. They know Santa Clause
Needs help because –
It’s Christmas.

Happy children dance ‘round a snowman.
Mistletoe is watching the hall.
Toe to Toe, Two lovers below
Touch lips all aglow –
It’s Christmas.

Hanging grandma’s heirlooms on the tree.
Each one holding a memory for me.
Outside a carolers. Mind them to keep
Their voices down. The kids are asleep.

Here we gather warm by the fire-hearth.
Toasting joyfully one and all.
Children dream, of glitter and gleam.
Come morning to beam –
It’s Christmas.

Children dream, of glitter and gleam.
Come morning to beam –
It’s Christmas.

CHRISTMAS IN MIAMI

Christmas in Miami
(Loosely to tune of “Autumn in New York,” by Vernon Duke)

Intro:
Keep your praises please
For singing Carols as you freeze
For fighting Ole Jack Frost and sleet
Wearing three pairs of socks on your feet

I’ll take Christmas in Miami
Bright lights on Sabal Palms swaying
Christmas in Miami
On Hobie Beach kids are playing

Watching the news from places with snow
Chilled faces aglow
In me feather no
Jealousy.

It’s Christmas in Miami
Out on the bay Santa’s sailing
Christmas in Miami
You’ll want to follow my lead.

Proud purists who tout the cold
Storm South Beach hotels I’m told
This Christmas in Miami
Has all the Merry I need.
