THIS GOVERNMENT SHUT-DOWN IS REALLY BAD NEWS

THIS GOVERNMENT SHUT-DOWN IS REALLY BAD NEWS
(To the tune of “Learnin’ the Blues,” by Delores Silvers and recorded by Frank Sinatra in 1955)

The airports are crazy
Those lines are abysmal.
The president’s smiling
His compassion is dismal.
Glad I’m not wearing
The president’s shoes.
This government shut-down
Is really bad news.

Whose pockets are empty?
Those workers without pay
Trump’s pockets have plenty.
What does he know about pay?
He’s still been tweeting
Same garbage he spews.
This government shut-down.
Is really bad news

When Trump’s at home alone
He builds a wondrous Lego wall.
And just as Humpty Dumpty fell.
You know right off of that wall he’ll fall.

The people grow angry.
And feeling deserted
The president’s happy?
With his polls now inverted?
Prayers of impeachment
Are heard in the pews
This government shut-down
Is really bad news

Reprise

He won’t back-down now
His ego would bruise.
But this government shut-down
Is really bad, really bad, really bad news.

THE COLLUDERS

THE COLLUDERS
(To the tune of “Poison Ivey” by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller as recorded by The Coasters in 1959)

They’re everywhere you look
In every DC nook
Which Mueller fumigates
See them crawling but they can’t escape.

The Colluders, the Colluders
While the public is sleeping
They’re like cockroaches creeping around

Now Manafort’s appealing
And Michael Cohen is squealing
While Donald Trump is wearing out his thumbs
Cause Mueller has subpoenas
He’s sending to the cleaners’
One immoral, sleazy gang of bums

The Russians have their patsy.
A narcissistic fatsy.
Won’t be a big surprise
When the truth bares a president’s lies

The Colluders, the Colluders
While the public is sleeping
They’re like cockroaches creeping around
