A MAN WITH FIRE

A MAN WITH FIRE
(To tune of “The Man I Love,” by George and Ira Gershwin)

We prayed he’d come along
A man with fire
He’d sing us a new song
One to inspire
We didn’t know his name
But recognized him when he came

He stood on higher ground
Morality
A trait not often found
Throughout DC
Republicans may squirm
But he deserves a second term

In an office held by few men
There were failures, he was human
Still like FDR and Truman
Given time there, he will do just fine there

 He cared about our health
Long overdue
Regardless of one’s wealth
He fought for you
It’s coming to the wire
I’m voting for
The man with fire
